TAMIL LAW FIRMS SURVIVAL

Lawyers strategies can be

win/loose
loose/win
win/win
win some/loose some

in all these strategies, it must be noted it is the client who loose.

In most of the Tamil firms, the clients are not kept uptodate and not provided the necessary documents as needed by the regulators. This has resulted in many tamil law firms being deprived of their legal aid franchise and also actions by regulatory bodies.

It can also be noted some of the persons who work in the law firms claim themselves to be solicitors where it is not the case. It must also be noted that in a law firm if a person is supervised by a solicitor can advise the clients.

It is noted from the regulatory body (Solicitors' Refulation Authority (forwmerly The Law Society)) have the power to intervene and did have intervened in many firms. This will include sub-quality advise, failing to carry out instructions, incompetent, professional negligence.

If a law firm does not have the legal aid franchaise and the work could be covered by legal aid, this must be communicated in a lanaguage that must be understood by the person who approached the solicitors. If this is followed by the tamil law firms, it is doubtful whether most of the firms could survive.

The fees charged must be provided detailedly in the fee invoice. Many tamil firms do not provided these. This can be reported to to SRA(Solicitors's Regulation Authority). This may enable sometimes you for some compensation (if any loss suffered) and theby enable the SRA to track down the poor quality service providing firms

REMEMBER IT IS YOU WHO FEED THE SOLICITORS (OR PERSONS CALLING THEMSELVES TO BE SO- Eg Professor NAGESAN, Mr GeNEMINATHAN, KaLINGA etc.... (names disguised)
